Overview

AnaVation is looking for talented Network Engineers who are passionate about technology and working with cutting edge software and hardware to support our mission critical customer in Washington, DC.  The ideal candidate appreciates partnering with our customer and a group of engineers to create innovative engineering solutions.

 

 

Responsibilities

The Network Engineer will be responsible for administration of a LAN Network infrastructure so as to meet the day to day demands in an efficient and cost-effective manner. Deploy, configure, and maintain networking equipment within the customer’s environment to ensure high levels of availability and security for client applications. Support projects as required to meet IT objectives while managing available time based on prioritized tasks. Provide reports and metrics on system functionality and health as needed to support operations requirements and growth planning. Coordinate with other system engineers to provide improvements to development environment recommendation to improve system functionality. Develop technical and operations standards, procedures, technical documentation and metrics related to network administration. Interface with customer and provide detail surrounding recommended implementation solutions.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree is preferred, but comparable accomplishments including project experience and IT certifications will be considered. 
  • 7-10 years network administration and engineering experience
  • Hands-on knowledge of network protocols, best practices, configuration and implementation, development and administration
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), or Voice Professional (CCVP), or Wireless (CCNP Wireless), or Network Security (CCSP) - 
  • Ability to troubleshoot and correct common network issues in order to quickly support customer’s operative mission
  • Experience working with network/server/cache load balancing (F5 Big-IP)
  • Experience working with ACL implementation, firewalls, VPNs
  • Familiarity with STP, OSPF, BGP, MPLS, SNMP, LACP best practices
  • Familiarity with network monitoring and logging applications
  • Basic troubleshooting skills utilizing ICMP, PCAP, IOS, logging, CLI, DOS, etc.
  • Experience with licensing, patching, upgrading, AAA, security best practices 
  • Top Secret Security Clearance

 

Desired:

  • CCNP, or CCVP, or CCNP Wireless, or CCSP AND the Design Professional (CCDP) Certifications.
  • Knowledge of Cisco SRND/SAFE and industry best practices.
  • Knowledge of Linux/Unix and other open source software to include BIND and Nessus.
  • Familiarity with network, server, storage virtualization, i.e. MDS switching infrastructure, VSAN, VRF, VPN, and VMWare vSphere.
  • Extensive experience with Cisco VoIP, including Call Manager 6.X, Unity, Contact Center. Knowledge of voice TDM technologies is also very useful.
  • Network Operations Center (NOC) Experience
