AnaVation is seeking a IT Project Managers to support mission critical customers in the Northern, VA area.   


The Project mangaer will  provide infrastructure requirements management support to the customer. This individual will be part of a team providing IT project . This will be a challenging and dynamic position that will continue to evolve as the customer grows. Current activities would include, but not be limited to brokering customers technical requirements to customer (and other) service providers; leveraging customer and customer Partner resources and managing customer expectations; and working across all levels of management, other branches and service providers to define requirements, develop schedules, and manage project plans. The IT Project Manager (PM) shall work with their manager and/or other representative to achieve the objectives of the project they are assigned to. The PM will be expected to use the Sponsor Project Management Framework (PMF) to manage their projects to include Agile methodology. The PM is responsible for the overall management of the specific projects and ensuring that the technical solutions and schedules are implemented in a timely manner. The PM is responsible for all aspects of the project including schedules, documentation preparation, and customer interaction. The PM will be expected to clearly present information; read and interpret complex information; interact with customers; listen well and work through others to obtain results.


Required Experience/Knowledge:
  • Demonstrated on-the-job experience leading IT projects for development of applications in the AWS (Amazon Web Services) environment.
  • Demonstrated on-the-job experience with data analysis, gathering and developing business requirements, and visualizing content that would provide an enhanced understanding of the information.
  • Demonstrated on-the-job experience providing leadership for software development teams while utilizing agile methodologies to improve management of requirements and delivery of functions.
  • Demonstrated on-the-job experience as a project manager and primary point of contact leading large, complex, high priority, and high visibility IT projects while ensuring that project direction, scope and requirements are aligned and communicated across all levels of management.
  • Demonstrated on-the-job experience managing the full project lifecycle for software/network projects using Project Management Principles. This includes managing day-to-day activities, developing project timelines, presentations, deliverables, PMPs, any security related documentation, risk management plans, etc.
  • Demonstrated on-the-job experience creating and managing MS Project Schedules and utilizing Critical Path Method (CPM) schedule development and baseline.
  • Demonstrated on-the-job experience briefing how a project schedule was created, baseline information, and how schedule changes would be implemented.
  • Demonstrated on-the-job experience with resource management, to include identifying allocated resources and identifying over and under allocations, and balancing project schedules and critical tasks. This includes using MS Project Gantt charts to demonstrate which resources are assigned to what project and if they are over/under allocated.
  • Demonstrated on-the-job experience participating and facilitating information sessions, control gates with other Project Managers, customers, stakeholders, and management to provide proper documentation and terminology that would ensure understanding and buy-in.
  • Demonstrated on-the-job experience with AGILE, PrimaVera and Scrum


  • Demonstrated on-the-job experience using MS Project as a Project Management tool.
  • Demonstrated on-the-job experience leading rapid development IT projects.
  • Demonstrated on-the-job experience conducting daily standup, sprint reviews and planning, feature prioritization, and retrospectives.
